The World Goes OnWe are delighted to announce that László Krasznahorkai and Antonio Muñoz Molina are on the shortlist for the Man Booker International Prize 2018.

Krasznahorkai, who won the prize in 2015, is shortlisted for his short story collection The World Goes On. Translated from Hungarian by John Batki, Ottilie Mulzet and George Szirtes, The Guardian called it a 'masterpiece of invention, utterly different from everything else - to meet Krasznahorkai's characters, to read his breathless, twisting sentences, is to feel altered.'Like a Fading Shadow

Translated from Spanish by Camilo A. Ramirez, Molina is shortlisted for Like a Fading Shadow, a taut retelling of James Earl Ray's assassination of Martin Luther King and his time on the run in Lisbon. The Financial Times called it 'Exhilarating ... exceptional ... a necessary  novel'.

The winner will be announced on 22 May 2018.
